Jeremy Gaines, a media veteran most recently managing director at Burson-Marsteller, will join the Public Broadcasting Service later this month as senior VP corporate communications, a new position.
He’ll be responsible for strategic communications, publicity, media relations, branding, crisis management, executive visibility, government relations, including building support for federal funding.
Gaines, who has more than 20 years of communications experience, will report to Jonathan Barzilay, PBS COO.
Prior to B-M, Gaines served as VP-corporate communications at both Gannett and MSNBC, where during a 14-year run he worked to enhance its competitive position and public image and served as associate producer for The News with Brian Williams.
Earlier, he was assistant press secretary for the 1992 Clinton/Gore presidential campaign and then moved to the White House as press assistant and deputy director of press advance.
