KYNE, specialty healthcare communications firm, has become a lead investor in Medit, an artificial intelligence based medical education platform. Medit co-founder Julie O’Donnell will serve as KYNE’s global head of digital, leading digital strategy and oversee the firm’s digital resources.
Before starting up Medit, O’Donnell held executive positions at Danish pharmaceutical company Lundbeck and Publicis D Healthcare, engaging healthcare stakeholders across such therapeutic areas as psychiatry, neurology and diabetes.
KYNE’s investment is part of a move to beef up its digital services, analytics tools and media capabilities. Medit curates sources including medical journals, blogs, websites and podcasts, and then uses machine learning to create customized recommended content for medical professionals.
