Dennis McGrath, a former president/CEO of Mona, Meyer, McGrath & Gavin, died May 13. He was 81.
Weber Shandwick acquired MMM&G, which became its Minneapolis office. McGrath headed Weber Shandwick's New York and Tokyo offices.
Following his departure from the Interpublic unit, McGrath joined the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis as communications director in 2002. During a ten-year stint, he dealt with sex abuse cases and a major consolidation of local parishes.
McGrath also formed McGrath-Buckley Communications Counseling with his wife, Betsy.
He joined Himle Rapp as senior counsel in 2013 and stepped down last year.
Gloria Steinem, who was the face of feminism for a generation, as well as a trailblazer in the media business, passed away on Sept. 2. She was 92.
Leslie Gottlieb, who had a long history of helping nonprofits and charitable organizations tell their stories, passed away on July 15. She was 82.
