Focus: Hope, the Detroit-based non-profit, expects to select a PR firm or marketing consultant by the end of the month to further its goal to break the cycle of generational poverty.
Founded in the aftermath of the 1968 riots, Focus: Hope's mission is to develop "intelligent and practical action to overcome racism, poverty and injustice."
The goal is to "build a metropolitan community where all people may live in freedom, harmony, trust and affection."
Focus: Hope puts an emphasis on educational programs for children and their families and economic opportunities.
It expects to achieve its mission through improved marketing and communications efficiencies.
The organization will partner with a firm to manage day-to-day PR, including media relations, event promotion and website maintenance.
