Micah Rasmussen, who served as press secretary to former Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey, is now director of the Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics at Rider University.
As press secretary, Rasmussen was front and center during the media circus connected to McGreevey's announcement in August 2004 that he was a "gay American" who had consensual sexual relationship with another man.
The Democratic politico also said he would step down as the nation's only openly gay governor in November of `04.
Rasmussen, who has more than 25 years of PR, governmental and political experience, served as communications directoer of the Garden State's Dept. of Transportation and was director of corporate communications at New Jersey Resources utility during Superstorm Sandy.
Most recently, he was VP of executive communication at Chubb Group.
Founded in 2001, Rebovich Institute Politics is dedicated to public service and scholarly analysis of government, public policy, campaigns and elections in NJ.
