WPP has cut ties with Gustavo Martinez, former head of JWT, two months after it settled a sexual harassment brought against him by ex-JWT chief communications officer Erin Johnson.
Martinez, who gave up his JWT post following the filing of the lawsuit two years ago, has been working on "Spanish projects" for WPP.
Tamara Ingram replaced Martinez at the helm of JWT. She was chief client team officer at WPP, who joined the ad/PR holding company's Kantar research unit in 2003.
A WPP spokesman said Martinez and WPP agreed that it is in the best interest of both parties for Martinez to pursue his career outside the group.
Martinez's departure follows the bombshell "extraction" of WPP founder Martin Sorrell from the helm following a probe into his personal conduct.
Sorrell plans to create WPP II via an acquisition strategy by his shell company, Derriston Capital.
