Higher education marketing company Stamats Communications Inc. has appointed Peter S. Stamats to the role of CEO.
Stamats succeeds former CEO and executive chairman Guy Wendler, who held the top executive slot since 1995 and has retired after 35 years with the company.
Stamats, who previously served as the company’s president CFO and COO, joined the Iowa-based firm in 1988. He’s the grandson of company co-founder Herbert Stamats. He resides in San Francisco.
Cedar Rapids, IA-based Stamats Communications was founded in 1923. The agency, which specializes in the higher education market, counts Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, Texas Tech, the University of Michigan and UCLA among clients. It staffs approx. 125 and maintains additional offices in Minneapolis and Albany, NY.
