Rachel Winer, who did a 16-year stint at Leo Burnett ad agency and exited as executive VP in charge of the key Kellogg’s account, has joined Edelman as president of its Chicago office.
She takes over for Jay Porter, who will head Daniel J. Edelman Holdings’ Revere unit, which is focused on technology-related clients.
Porter, a 13-year Edelman veteran, took the Chicago job four years ago. Earlier, he was global client relationship manager for the Starbucks account, and head of Edelman's San Francisco outpost.
Winer, who also worked four years at Energy BBDO handling Wrigley’s business, is joining the No. 1 independent firm from BuzzFeed, where she was senior VP brand strategy focused on development of its Chicago and Detroit offices.
“Rachel's track record of energizing and driving growth for brands, coupled with a front-row seat to the changing media environment, make her uniquely equipped to lead the next chapter of Edelman’s Chicago office and presence in the Midwest,” said Russell Dubner, Edelman US CEO, in a statement.
