The Institute for Public Relations is collaborating with PRIME Research on its Strategic Communication & Research Conference, to be held Sept. 13 in Atlanta. The event is intended to help senior and emerging corporate and brand communicators improve their return on PR investment using strategic research. Presenters will include Home Depot head of brand communications Yanique Woodall; David Cantor, deputy director, management and insights, global policy and advocacy at The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; and Adobe System global leader of communications management Jennifer Bruce. An optional research boocamp on Sept. 12 will be led by IPR director of research Dr. Sarab Kochhar; IPR president & CEO Tina McCorkindale and PRIME Research CEO Mark Weiner. KemperLesnik was recognized at the 2018 PRSA Chicago Skyline Awards for its work in media relations and issues management. The agency took home Skyline Awards of Excellence for two client campaigns in separate categories. In the media relations – consumer services category, KemperLesnik was recognized alongside its longtime client, Streamsong Resort, for the campaign “Betting on Black: The Launch of Streamsong Black.” The agency also won an Award of Excellence in the issues management category for the Aon Affinity Travel Practice’s “Creating a Savvier Traveler,” campaign. This annual PRSA Chicago competition is modeled after the PRSA National Silver and Bronze Anvil Programs and recognizes leading projects and programs executed by communication practitioners in Chicago.

RMD Advertising has won awards from both the Public Relations Society of America and The Association for Women in Communications. RMD won Clarion Awards, which AWD presents to honor clear, concise communications, in the special promotion category for Southern Recipe’s annual Pork Rind Appreciation Day campaign and in the community relations campaign category for Southern Recipe’s Truck Driver Appreciation Week campaign with St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund. RMS also received PRSA Prism awards in the special events category for Graeter’s National Ice Cream Month campaign; in the interactive/digital PR: websites category for Southern Recipe’s Pork Rind Appreciation Day campaign and in the corporate social responsibility category for Graeter’s cause-related campaign titled Cones for the Cure.
