Vested has named Kevin Trowbridge chief technology officer. Trowbridge has held leading roles at numerous startups, including online magazine The Bold Italic, web & interaction design conference An Event Apart, car sharing platform Wheelz and business commerce network Ariba. As CTO, Trowbridge will oversee the development of Vested’s proprietary PR solutions and drive efficiency into the firm’s professional services offerings. “Throughout my career I’ve been fortunate enough to work with a number of companies who have reinvented their category,” said Trowbridge. “Vested is on a similar mission in communications.”

Tunheim is adding Arick Wierson, Emmett Coleman and Susan Eich to its team as strategic partners. Wierson is a former deputy commissioner of technology and senior media and communications advisor to New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg; he is a current political and business contributor to CNN, CNBC and the New York Observer. Coleman was most recently was vice president of external affairs for Comcast. Eich, who has served in key roles at Sleep Number, Cargill, Target, Honeywell and SoftBrands, was an original founder of Tunheim. The agency has also brought on Emily McGrath as a senior consultant. Prior to working for Tunheim, she was a contract lobbyist for a variety of Fortune 500 companies, and also served as the legislative liaison for the Minnesota Department of Health. She has previously worked as a strategic partner for Tunheim.

Qorvis Communications has hired Kristen Thomaselli as vice president of public affairs. Thomaselli comes to Qorvis from Forbes Tate Partners, where she was a vice president. She previously directed strategic communications and public affairs efforts at Keybridge Communications and worked in the office of former Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV (D-WV). At Qorvis, she will work to develop and execute strategies for Qorvis clients that help advance their advocacy goals. In addition, the agency has promoted Grace Fenstermaker to senior account supervisor; Carly O’Brien and Shannon Quinn to senior account executive; and Anthony Dykes to account executive.

Baretz+Brunelle has brought on Amy Hanan as chief digital officer. Hanan joins the agency from financial media firm Reorg Research, where she served as director product marketing, taking the central role in building its marketing department. Before that, she held various positions at ALM Media, including vice president of strategic communications & creative services, a role in which she was responsible for defining ALM’s corporate brand. In her new post, she will work with B+B’s client base to develop innovative digital marketing strategies and will design the next generation of products for those clients.

Marino has promoted Cara Marino Gentile to executive vice president. Gentile, who joined the firm in 2001, was most recently a senior vice president. In that position, she has overseen many of Marino’s long-term clients, including JFK’s Terminal 4, Con Edison Solutions, and Silvercup Studios. In her new position, she will further expand her management work for the agency’s real estate and energy practices, while taking on a larger role on the operational side of the business, focusing on staff enrichment and human resources.
