New Heights Communications of DC has brought on Josh Cohen as a principal and Jimmy Donofrio as director of digital strategy. Cohen comes to New Heights from The Pastorum Group, which he co-founded in 2015. He has worked in the office of Sen. Richard Durbin (D-IL) as well as for the Democratic National Committee and Obama for America. Cohen will be tasked with expanding strategic communications, developing a dynamic digital practice and helping guide the firm’s overall direction. Donofrio was previously digital director at Americans United for Change and served as creative director at the DNC. New Heights has also promoted Jaime Horn, who has been a senior advisor the firm for a year, to partner. Horn was previously with Blue Engine Message & Media. The agency has also added Solace Duncan and Derek Haviland as senior associates. New Heights was founded in 2010 by former SEIU national media director and Gore 2000 press secretary Christy Setzer.

Symetra Life Insurance Co. has hired Trinity Parker as senior VP, marketing, communications and public affairs. Parker was most recently regional manager, government and community relations, for Sound Transit, a transit agency serving Washington State’s Puget Sound region. Before that, she was VP of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, leading the business organization’s marketing and communications functions. In her new role, Parker will be responsible for Symetra’s overall marketing and communications strategy and programs as well as working to develop and strengthen the company’s relationships with key industry and community constituencies.

Warner Communications, a Millwright Holdings unit, has promoted Erin Vadala to president, succeeding agency founder Carin Warner. Vadala, who has been with Warner since 2004, was previously senior VP. Before coming to the agency, she served as marketing communications manager at both Aspen Technology and Pilot Software. In her new post, Vadala will be charged with leading client relations, strategic planning and agency growth. She will also join Millwright’s Agency Leadership Team working alongside Brian Regan, president of sister firm Actual Agency. “Erin brings a wealth of knowledge, diverse industry expertise, and a broad view of integrated marketing communications to help our clients succeed,” said Michael Young, Millwright CEO.

Lambert, Edwards & Associates has hired Andrew Sedlar and Drew Hall as investor relations coordinators, both based in the firm Grand Rapids office. Hall joins the team in the Grand Rapids office after recently graduating from Grand Valley State University where he was a finance portfolio manager at the school’s Seidman Investment Portfolio. Sedlar comes to LE&A after graduating from Michigan Technological University, where he was a member of the Applied Portfolio Management Program and worked with a small team of students to research and implement an investment program to deploy more than $1.5 million into various asset classes. Both will play key roles in supporting Lambert’s communications offerings.
