Berns Communications Group, which is focused on the global retail, fashion, commerce and consumer goods businesses, has launched a new retail consumer practice, which will be led by Alissa Heumann. The news follows BCG’s launch of its retail influencer network this spring. The network brings together a group of well-known, expert voices that retailers, brands and media can consult to better understand the industry, consumer behavior and which commerce strategies are most effective. Heumann was most recently director of public relations at Lord & Taylor and has held communications roles at Lividini & Co. and Victoria Beckham. As senior vice president and director of consumer marketing, Heumann will lead a team focused on fashion and influencer relations.

Stay Curious

APCO Worldwide, Gagen MacDonald, Oxford Analytica and the Boswell Group have formed a partnership that brings together experts in stakeholder engagement, geopolitical risk, public affairs, culture change, leadership development and employee advocacy. The “Stay Curious. Stay Ahead” partnership will focus on helping clients assess their agility across several dimensions. It will also provide a robust set of underlying core attributes and leverage holistic solutions to address gaps in performance. Clients will be provided with a quantitative assessment of their organization’s ability to thrive. Scores will be derived from an organization’s rating in three key dimensions: active leadership, enterprising culture and shared advocacy. “For leaders of organizations and corporations to stay ahead, they need to be insatiably curious and bold,” said APCO Worldwide CEO Brad Staples. “That curiosity—a new brand of agility—can mean the difference between success or failure.”
