The Secret Service said today that it found two explosive devices in mail sent to the former president Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“The packages were immediately identified during routine mail screening procedures as potential explosive devices and were appropriately handled as such,” said a statement from the Secret Services. “The protectees did not receive the packages nor were they at risk of receiving them.
The Clinton package was found yesterday in Westchester, while the Obama parcel was discovered today was in DC.
The agency is probing whether the devices are linked to one found Oct. 22 at the Westchester home of philanthropist George Soros.
The Secret Service said it has “initiated a full scope criminal investigation that will leverage all available federal, state and local resources to determine the source of the packages and identify those responsible."
