Hill+Knowlton Strategies MENA has appointed Timothy Hurst regional director of Energy+Industrials, MENA. H+K has also named Freddy Davis as director of technology in London. Hurst comes to H+K from the International Renewable Energy Agency in Abu Dhabi, where for the past five years he served as chief communications officer. Before coming to the IREA, he was a director at APCO Worldwide. Hurst will work with H+K clients in the Middle East and North Africa region, including ACWA Power and ADNOC Distribution. Davies comes to H+K from Red Consultancy, where he served as director. He has worked with such clients as McDonald’s, Lynx, Activision and Samsung. Davies joins the firm’s technology sector team and will focus on consumer technology and entertainment clients.

Brand consultancy Landor has named Peter Knapp chairman. He will also continue in his role as chief creative officer. Knapp has been with Landor for 25 years and has been a long-standing member of its global executive team. He has worked with a range of clients that includes Adecco, Accenture, Bayer, BP, De Beers, Hang Seng Bank, Land Rover and Marks & Spencer. As chairman, Knapp will partner with Landor CEO Jane Geraghty to further develop Landor’s key offerings, primarily in the areas of service design, branded tech and innovation.

Purple Strategies, a strategy and communications firm with offices in Alexandria, VA and Chicago, has named Patrick Palmer as a managing director. Palmer comes to Purple Strategies from Chicago-based design firm VSA Partners, where he was partner and strategy practice lead. He has also held leadership roles with agencies such as Leo Burnett, Havas Worldwide and RPA. Based in the firm’s Alexandria office, Palmer will focus on innovation, insight generation, thought leadership and integrated strategic development. “Pat’s expertise blends art and science, creativity and research and he will bring this ideal combination to bear for our Fortune 100 clients,” said Purple Strategies co-founder and chairman Alex Castellanos.

Nashville-based DVL Seigenthaler/FINN Partners has named Yasmin Mohammed director of broadcast. Mohammed has produced over 200 TV shows, documentaries and live events for Viacom, CMT-MTV Networks, Ryan Seacrest Productions, Cox Communications and Switched On Entertainment. She has collaborated with several national and international brands on custom integrated content. Among Siegenthaler’s other recent appointments are Ted Cass and Tom Gatlin as art directors in its creative services department, Francie Fisher as an account supervisor and Trisha Boyd as advertising coordinator.
