Katie McBreen has joined the Grocery Manufacturers Assn. as VP-communications and research.
Most recently, she was VP-communications, PA and counselor to the CEO of the National Retail Federation, where she handled advocacy, crisis communications, media relations, and executive positioning.
Earlier, McBreen worked as senior director of communications & strategy at the US Chamber of Commerce, handling programs such as the Campaign for Free Enterprise and Project for Regulatory Reform.
She also worked for former VP Dick Cheney as associate deputy director of advance.
McBreen is part of the new leadership team installed by GMA CEO Geoff Freeman, who took the post Aug. 1 after exiting as head of the American Gaming Assn.
The GMA represents food, beverage and consumer products companies that employ 2.1M workers in the US.
