Dress for Success

PRSA-NY’s Nov. 27 Holiday Party and Silent Auction will raise funds for Dress For Success, a nonprofit organization that provides professional attire for low-income women, to help support their job-search and interview process. DFS also provides interview coaching, as well as running a career center that helps clients after they get jobs. All proceeds from the Silent Auction will go to the organization. The event takes place at Aureole (135 W. 42nd St., NYC) and starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 for PRSA-NY members and $50 for nonmembers. To purchase tickets, click here.

The Institute for Public Relations has launched “In a Car with IPR,” a new video series. The series is hosted by IPR president and CEO Tina McCorkindale, who travels across the country to interview such industry leaders as Peppercomm CEO Steve Cody and University of Florida Public Relations Department chair Marcia DiStaso. In the first episode she chats—and hops into a flight simulator—with Southwest Airlines SVP & CCO Linda Rutherford. TrizCom Public Relations has received a 2018 Pegasus Award for Communications Excellence from the Dallas chapter of PRSA. The awards recognize the best-in-category media outreach and public relations efforts in the North Texas area. Awards were given in six program categories and eight project categories. TrizCom PR was recognized in the media relations business to business category for its work on behalf of the Dillon Gage Metals media relations campaign. TrizCom Account Supervisor Jeffery Cheatham received the Dallas Chapter of PRSA New Member of the Year Award.


R&J Strategic Communications has received four Graphic Design Awards from Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) Magazine for its graphic design work for Picatinny Federal Credit Union and Profeta Farms. The work that was recognized included a campaign for Picatinny Federal Credit Union to motivate young adults to start saving; "Hit the Road with Triple Points," a campaign to highlight Picatinny Federal Credit Union's new travel rewards Visa card; and a series of billboards executed for Profeta Farms, which is billed as New Jersey’s only fully organic farms and market. R&J also received an award for their agency email marketing designs that are produced and distributed regularly to showcase a variety of agency news and material.
