CEOs are expected to play bigger roles in live social videos in 2019, according to a survey of 125 communicators conducted by D S Simon Media.
While 40 percent of respondents have featured CEOs in videos, 57 percent expect to do so next year.
Doug Simon, CEO of D S Simon Media, believes the use of a CEO in a video makes a brand more authentic. Live video, he added, allows for greater content control.
The survey also gauged how communicators use video. Creating awareness of a campaign took top honors at 92 percent.
Turning leaders into influencers (52 percent), connecting with partners (44 percent) and winning attention at events/tradeshows (22 percent) followed.
At 63 percent, Facebook is the most popular site for social streaming. YouTube (46 percent) and Instagram (45 percent) ranked next.
