Snap Inc. today announced that Julie Henderson will join as chief communications officer following completion of Walt Disney Co.’s acquisition of assets of 21st Century Fox, where she is executive VP-and CCO.
She will take over for Mary Ritti, VP-communications, who announced her plan to leave the “camera company” after a six-year run.
Henderson also was senior VP-corporate affairs & CCO at News Corp, which was parent company of 21CF.
Snap expects Henderson to help it “redefine the camera and empower people to express themveles visually with friends and family.”
She will report to CEO Evan Spiegel. Santa Monica-based Snap posted a $1B loss on $790M in revenues for the first nine months of 2018. That financial performance was an improvement over the $3.1B deficit on $590M revenues for the comparable 2017 period.

Senior-most communications executives in the Fortune 500 earned between $50,000 and $100,000 more this year than they did two years ago, according to a recent survey of chief communications officers.

The pressure is on PR pros to make sure corporate messaging remains clear and cohesive. Business jargon is an obstacle to achieving this goal.
In today's volatile world of constant disruption, the ability to offer reliability and dependability is more valuable than ever.
