Jill Kozeny, chief of staff to Iowa Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, will join the American Council of Life Insurers on Jan. 2 as senior VP-communications and PA.
She advised Grassley in his role as chairman of the Senate Judiciary and earlier as ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee.
Her responsibilities included crafting strategic communications strategy around issues such as taxes, healthcare, retirement security, international trade and government reform.
Susan Neely, who was head of the American Beverage Assn., took the helm of the ACLI in September. Earler, she served in the George W. Bush administration as assistant secretary for PA at the Dept. of Homeland Security.
Neely took over ACLI from former Idaho Republican Senator and Interior Secretary under Bush II Dirk Kempthorne, who headed the group for eight years.
ACLI’s 290 members provide life insurance, annuities, retirement plans, disability income insurance and dental/vision plans to 90M US families.
