Cision has named Valerie Lopez vice president of global diversity, equity and inclusion. Lopez has been with the company since 2000, most recently as vice president, media research. In her new post, she will lead the creation and delivery of a global diversity and inclusion strategy for Cision. Lopez will play an integral role in expanding the reach of Cision's Employee Resource Groups, which foster an inclusive company culture that embraces authenticity, individual differences and professional development. She is now charged with the launch of a Multicultural Resource Group, which has the goal of raising awareness and embracing the multicultural community within the company.

LaVoieHealthScience has named Lisa DeScenza assistant vice president, integrated communications. DeScenza has been with LHS since 2012, most recently as assistant vice president, recruiting, diversity & inclusion projects. Prior to joining LHS, she was director of corporate planning and communications and an investor relations specialist at Ergo Science Corporation. As LHS, DeScenza has held a number of roles within the agency, including supporting clients, business development, marketing, recruiting, human resources, administration and operations. Currently she provides investor and public relations support to build recognition, sales and value for health science innovations. She also assists with the agency's new business endeavors.

Subject Matter is adding Natalie Farr Rogers to its government relations team. Rogers most recently was chief of staff to Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO). She previously worked for the House Republican Study Committee, in congressional affairs at the Department of Labor and as a legislative assistant to former Rep. John Shadegg (R-AZ). Rogers brings to Subject Matter significant experience in policy formulation and advocacy. “As the new Congress is poised to begin consideration of a range of issues from infrastructure and technology to energy and international issues, Natalie's expertise will be invaluable to our clients,” said Subject Matter partner Steve Elmendorf.

Pierpont Communications has named Allison Lowe Burum vice president in its Dallas office. Prior to joining Pierpont, Burum operated her own business, counseling clients across the country. Before that, she was an account supervisor at Edelman where she worked with clients ranging from hospital systems to health and wellness brands to non-profit organizations and leading technology companies. Burum also previously worked in the marketing communications departments at both LifeCare Health Partners and Haynes and Boone, LLP, and HCK2 Partners.
