Subject Matter is adding Cedric Grant to its government relations team.
Grant joins the firm from H&R Block where he was lead Democratic lobbyist, focusing on developing and executing a strategic agenda for legislative outreach. He also served on the Block PAC Board. Before that, he was chief of staff to Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).
His previous positions also include serving as director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships at the Department of Commerce, working as a leadership liaison and policy advisor to the House Ways & Means Committee and being a senior advisor to Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY).
"Cedric’s experience on the Hill, working with Executive Branch agencies and working with the financial service sector and a range of faith-based organizations will be a great asset to our clients, as we help them develop legislative strategies,” said Subject Matter partner Steve Elmendorf.
