Melissa Golden, a 25-year marketing communications pro, has joined Weber Shandwick to oversee its Atlanta outpost as executive VP/GM.
Most recently, she did a more than six-year stint at Ketchum/Atlanta, where she handled key accounts such as Wendy's and launched its Purpose Practice.
Golden also served as chief external affairs officer at the Points of Light Institute, senior managing director at Teach for All Network and VP-marketing at Teach for America.
Earlier in her career, Golden worked as publicist for Simon & Schuster and English teacher in the New York City public school system.
Joy Farber Kolo, president of Weber Shandwick East, said Golden will help her firm " play a meaningful role in the city’s thriving business community and cultivate great careers for some of the best and brightest practitioners in Atlanta.”
