LaVoieHealthScience has hired Sharon Choe as senior vice president, investor relations & business development. Choe comes to LHS from The Ruth Group, where she was senior vice president since November 2015 until recently. She previously spent four years as managing director at Life Sci Advisors and has worked on the buy side as a healthcare & biotech analyst at firms including UBS Asset Management, Credit Suisse Asset Management and BAM Capital LLC. At LHS, Choe will work to expand business development for LHS, deploy best practices, hire talent and provide additional investor connections for clients. Choe’s arrival coincides with the naming of the firm’s investor relations practice as LHS-IR, which will focus on investor relations counsel, access and financial communications and key opinion leader/investor events.

Baering of Raleigh has promoted Erin Smith to president. Smith has been with Baering (formerly MMI Public Relations) since 2010, and has been serving as vice president since 2016. Before coming to Baering, she was an account manager at Sinclair & Co. In her new post, Smith is primarily responsible for setting the strategy and direction for the firm, modeling the firm’s culture and overseeing client delivery and success. To aid in Smith’s transition to president, Baering has also brought on Elizabeth Kadick as account director and Ashlee Gerow as director of strategy.

ICM Partners has named Claire Moncrief director, corporate communications. Moncrief comes to ICM from CBS. For the past three years, she has worked out of Los Angeles for both the network and CBS TV Studios on shows including Late Late Show With James Corden and CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Discovery. She also has been involved with CBS Eye Speak, the company’s female empowerment initiative. At ICM, Moncrief will work with SVP Corporate Communications Brad Turell on diversity and inclusion efforts, including its 50/50By2020 pledge.
