Former Brew PR CEO Dena Cook is joining Mattel as executive VP and global head of communications and public relations.
While at Brew, Cook oversaw the 2016 acquisition of the agency by London-based Freud Communications. She was previously a senior VP at Zeno Group and has managed client accounts at FleishmanHillard. She’s handled clients such as Nintendo, Sony PlayStation, Sirius Satellite Radio and Zynga.
Cook will oversee all external and internal communications for Mattel, with primary responsibility for managing and executing on Mattel's corporate communications strategy across global audiences. She will report to Mattel chairman and CEO Ynon Kreiz, whose goal is “to transform Mattel into an IP-driven, high-performing toy company.”
Cook joins Mattel as it launches its Mattel Film division, which is currently developing projects based on Barbie and Hot Wheels.

The pressure is on PR pros to make sure corporate messaging remains clear and cohesive. Business jargon is an obstacle to achieving this goal.
In today's volatile world of constant disruption, the ability to offer reliability and dependability is more valuable than ever.
