Sabrina Levine Communications has added Karen Amster-Young to its strategic advisory team. Amster-Young was previously the founder and president of Amster-Young Public Relations, where she worked with Levine on campaigns for such brands as FIJI Water, The Wallpaper Council and Federated Department Stores. Before launching her agency, Amster-Young was an account executive with Ketchum Public Relations. In her new post, she will focus on new business development for the agency and provide senior counsel for select clients.

The International Dairy Foods Association has named Matt Herrick to the new position of senior vice president, executive and strategic communications. Herrick comes to IDFA from The Rockefeller Foundation, where he was managing director, communications. Prior to that, he was senior vice president with DC-based public affairs firm Story Partners. He also served in the Obama administration as press director and spokesperson for the U.S. Agency for International Development, and communications director for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In this new role, Herrick will be responsible for leading all of IDFA’s communications and reputation management activities.

French/West/Vaughan has appointed Kristen Levine president of its pet and veterinary practice, FWV Fetching. Levine had previously served as the division’s senior vice president. She founded Fetching Communications, a marketing and public relations agency dedicated solely to the pet industry, in 2003. Fetching acquired news distribution service PetPR.com in 2013. Both were acquired by FWV in 2017 to form FWV Fetching. Before starting up Fetching, Levine served as PR director for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Tampa Bay. She is also creator of the online platform Kristen Levine Pet Living.
