Kevin Brockman, executive VP-global communications at Disney until exiting in January after 22 years, is joining WarnerMedia Entertainment as VP-global communications.
He will oversee all corporate and content communications initiatives for the company’s networks and brands, including HBO, Cinemax, TBS, TNT and truTV as well as WarnerMedia's direct-to-consumer streaming service, which is expected to launch in Q4 2019, with a full-scale launch set for next year. He will report to WarnerMedia Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt.
At Disney, Brockman was responsible for all communications efforts for ABC Studios, ABC Entertainment, ABC News, ABC-owned television stations, Freeform and Disney Channels Worldwide. Before coming to Disney, he helped launch UPN (United-Paramount Network).
"Kevin has a unique skill for overseeing multiple brands that connect audiences of all ages to the entertainment that resonates with them,” Greenblatt said. “He will be an important part of the exceptional group I’m bringing together to help launch our exciting new streaming platform anchored by the premium content of HBO, Turner and Warner Bros.


Mika El-Baz, who did a nearly 18-year run at Sony Music’s RCA Records label, has joined Apple Music’s PR team, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Katie Martin Kelley has joined Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group as executive VP-communications.
Doug Mishkin, who was in charge of the National Football League’s gambling-related commercial activities, has joined Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner’s global sports and entertainment group.
Kristina Schake has joined Walt Disney Co. as executive VP-global communications as she wrapped up a 10-month stint as the Biden administration’s COVID-19 public education campaign director.
Sean Smith is leaving the EVP of corporate counsel spot at Porter Novelli to join the Recording Academy, which runs the GRAMMY Awards, as EVP of communications, effective Oct. 25.
