Marino has brought on Sam Goldstein as director of land use and public policy. Goldstein was a founder of the Helicopter Tourism & Jobs Council, an advocacy organization that represents the Air Tour industry in New York City. He has also served as director of government relations for Selfhelp Community Services, a senior housing and social service organization, and was a principal at Kivvit Public Affairs. “Sam will be a tremendous asset in helping to grow the agency’s thriving land use and advocacy practice,” said Marino president John F. Marino. Marino’s client roster has also included McDonald’s, Walmart, The Home Depot and One World Trade Center.

Zapwater Communications has promoted Brigid Parr to vice president in its Chicago office, one of 10 recent promotions at the agency. Parr has been with Zapwater since 2011, most recently serving as group director. She leads some of the agency’s largest consumer and lifestyle accounts, and has a strong hand in internal management. Parr is also on the Publicity Club of Chicago’s board of directors. The other promotions include Erika von Borcke and Stephanie Reay, both of whom are now group directors in the Chicago office. Before coming to Zapwater in 2018 as an account director, von Borcke was a director at Weber Shandwick. Reay, who was also previously an account director, works on several of Zapwater’s restaurant and hotel accounts.

Customer experience solutions firm Alorica Inc. has hired Colson Hillier as chief marketing officer, with responsibility for driving strategic planning, product development and execution of Alorica’s global marketing and communications initiatives. Prior to joining Alorica, Hillier held several senior leadership roles at Verizon Wireless, focusing on new product development, big data analytics and digital marketing. “Colson has a strong track record of packaging technology and digital platforms to build profitable business operations on a global scale,” said Alorica chief operating officer Greg Haller.
