Los Angeles-based Myriad International Marketing was hired by the Shizuoka Prefectural Tourism Association, the government agency responsible for driving tourism to the Shizuoka jurisdiction that runs along the Pacific coast in Central Japan’s Chūbu region, located between Tokyo and Osaka.

MM was enlisted to perform marketing and public relations services in an effort to promote Shizuoka among United States travelers, according to lobbying registration documents filed with Congress in May.
The contract, which also called for media relations work, creating press releases and promoting Shizuoka to key travel trade members of the Asia travel market, brought MM a total of $15,000.
Myriad, which focuses on lifestyle and travel clients, was acquired by Kansas City, MO-based travel, hospitality and entertainment marketing agency MMGY Global in late 2016. That deal also included travel and hospitality shop Spring O’Brien, which Myriad acquired in 2015.
