Dix & Eaton has brought on Melody Caraballo as digital marketing manager and Tom Wells as digital media manager. Caraballo previously was the founder and owner of Cleveland-based Harmonious Marketing. She has also served as content strategist at AMG Marketing Resources and an editor at education management company Amplify. At Dix & Eaton, Caraballo integrates content and social media across practice areas. Wells comes to the agency from San Francisco-based RadiumOne, where he was a senior account manager. In his new position, he specializes in data analysis and reporting to interpret campaign performance metrics and generate actionable insights.

Zilker Media of Austin has promoted brand strategy director Paige Velasquez to chief executive officer. Previous CEO and founder Rusty Shelton will continue as founder and chairman, and Nichole Williamson has been promoted from digital marketing strategist to fill Velasquez’s previous position. Velasquez was part of the team that started up Zilker Media in 2017. Before joining Zilker, Velasquez was with Houston consulting firm Blakemore & Associates, where she served as digital director for a Texas statewide official’s campaign. She has also been head of the digital marketing team at Advantage Media Group and oversaw the content marketing team at Shelton Interactive.

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau has named Kara Franker senior vice president of marketing & communications. Prior to joining the GFLCVB, she founded and led her own communications and marketing firm, which provided marketing strategy, team management, client promotion and content creation services to Florida-based destination marketing organizations, as well as hotels, restaurants and attractions throughout Florida and the Caribbean. She also serves as editor-in-chief of two luxury lifestyle magazines for the Modern Luxury network of publications. At GFLCVB, Franker will lead the strategic planning and execution for all destination marketing and communications initiatives including branding, global destination promotion, integrated advertising campaigns, social media, public relations and website development.

Shatterproof, a nonprofit organization that addresses the addiction crisis in America, has appointed Kirsten Seckler chief marketing and communications officer. Seckler was previously with Special Olympics for more than 20 years, most recently serving as chief brand and communications officer. In her new post, she will be tasked with developing and implementing communication strategies to enhance Shatterproof’s influence and engagement with the general public and key audiences. Her responsibilities also include creating communications and marketing initiatives to broaden awareness of Shatterproof programs and priorities, including leading a national strategy addressing stigma toward addiction. Seckler will open the first Washington DC office for the organization
