Tunheim has hired Bob Hume to serve as director of public affairs. Before coming to Tunheim, Hume served as senior advisor to Minnesota governor Mark Dayton and then-lieutenant governor (now US senator) Tina Smith.

He was previously deputy chief of staff and communications director to Saint Paul mayor Chris Coleman. Hume has also worked on US senate campaigns for Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, Chris Coons of Delaware and former senate majority leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota.

In his new post, he will advise clients as well as working to grow the public affairs practice and serving on the management team.

Tunheim president and CEO John Blackshaw said that Hume “not only brings a wealth of public affairs experience and leadership, he is one of the sharpest strategic thinkers around.”
