Squire Patton Boggs has signed a contract with Angola to help that African nation bring its financial system up to international standards so banks can resume dollar-denominated transaction, according to the lobbying firm's June 18 letter of engagement.
The firm also will help Angola enhance its image in the US with an eye of increasing trade and investment.
SPB has agreed to a fixed annual retainer of $4.1M against which it will bill fees and expenses at the rate of $341,667 per-month.

They report to ambassador Victor Manuel Rita da Fonseca Lima, Angola's secretary for diplomatic affairs for international cooperation.
