Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti has named Dae Levine his director of communications. Levine joins the Garcetti Administration from digital campaigning company Revolution Messaging, where she served as senior vice president. Levine, who also runs her own communications firm, was previously stakeholder director for the successful campaign to achieve marriage equality in Australia and has headed communications for Greenpeace Australia Pacific. Levine succeeds Suzi Emmerling, who is now chief communications officer for The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation. Garcetti has also appointed Andre Herndon, who was previously his deputy director of communications, as senior communications advisor.

G&S Business Communications has promoted Heather Caufield, Dana Ferrell and Katy Hendricks from account director to vice president. Caufield and Hendricks both previously held the title of director, client services at CooperKatz, which was acquired by G&S in August 2018. Ferrell has been with G&S since 1999. Caulfield currently provides strategic direction to clients in industries including financial and professional services, wine and spirits, and paper and packaging. Hendricks counsels clients focused on home and building, technology, healthcare and consumer lifestyle by blending content strategy, integrated campaign development, media relations and project management. Ferrell currently leads key agribusiness accounts, providing branding, crisis communications, design, event management and media relations direction to clients.

Skanska, a multinational construction and development company based in Sweden, has hired Anita Woolley Nelson as chief strategy officer for the company’s building operations. Nelson joins Skanska from AECOM’s Construction Services Group, where she was senior vice president of strategy, marketing and communications. In this role, she led the development and implementation of the Construction Services Group’s global strategy over a diverse portfolio of businesses in the buildings, civil, power, industrial and oil and gas markets.
