Headstand

Allison+Partners has launched Headstand, an integrated communications consultancy. The new consultancy is positioned to handle Allison+Partners’ conflict accounts as well as its own book of business. It offers a range of integrated marketing services that includes creative campaign development and execution, brand identity and messaging development, content development, influencer relations, media relations, social engagement and digital programs. Headstand will be led by 12-year Allison+Partners veteran Zach Colvin, who assumes the role of president and will oversee the firm’s business development and organic growth efforts. Stacey Johnes will serve as general manager. Prior to Headstand, Johnes was senior vice president, client service at Allison+Partners, working with consumer brands across multiple industries and operating in stealth mode for the past six months. Headstand is already working with such clients as SAP North America, NerdWallet, SideChef, Trov and Xiaomi.

Worldcom has brought on Quito, Ecuador-based MC Comunicaciones as its newest partner. Founded in 2009 by former television news reporter and producer Mercedes Córdova, MC Comunicaciones has directed communications for such clients as Nestlé, Hyundai, Reebok, UNICEF, Volvo, and Hilton Colon Quito. “Worldcom provides us the opportunity to expand our agency’s horizons beyond Ecuadorian territory while facilitating the exchange of knowledge between diverse agencies,” said Córdova.

At the Public Relations Boutiques International 12th Annual General Meeting and Conference, the organization’s officers for 2019-2020 were confirmed. Amanda Foley of Kiterocket is president; Lynnette Werning of Blue Water Communications is vice president; Cheryl Bame of Bame Public Relations is secretary; Paul Furiga of WordWrite is treasurer and Julia Labaton of RED PR is member at large. Lee Weinstein, Weinstein PR, was elected to serve as ex officio. The event gathered some 25 member agency owners from North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, South America and Australia for a week of strategic planning, networking, best practice sharing and guest speakers who addressed issues impacting the communications industry.
