Maggie Malek has been named CEO of Houston-based advertising, branding and communications agency MMI Agency.

She succeeds former MMI CEO Benjamin Spiegel, who held the chief executive position since 2015.
Malek has been with MMI for nearly a decade, joining the agency in 2010 as an account executive before becoming social media director, and later, head of PR and social media. She most recently served as senior VP of strategy.
She began her career at Barstool Magazine, where she was a coordinating editor and writer.
MMI Agency is part of the Stagwell Group, the marketing investment company headed by polling guru and former Burson-Marsteller CEO Mark Penn.
