Steve Burns, who has been BCW’s west coast public affairs lead since 2014, has moved over to Mercury Public Affairs, where he will be managing director of the firm’s Sacramento office.
At BCW, Burns worked with companies on such public affairs, policy and communications issues as government engagements, brand protection and stakeholder outreach.
Before coming to BCW, he was at Chevron Corporation for 12 years in roles ranging from the company’s first corporate social responsibility and sustainability lead, to primary adviser to the CEO; he also led the company’s community engagement and corporate policy groups.
“Steve is well known in Sacramento as a leader in the business community, and he brings invaluable insights and public affairs and crisis experience that will undoubtedly be a great asset to our clients,” said Mercury partner and former speaker of the California State Assembly Fabian Nuñez.
Mercury is part of the Omnicom Public Affairs Group.
