BCW has named Dan Doherty executive VP, global public affairs and crisis solutions, responsible for leading and building the practice in North America. Doherty has been executive vice president, managing director in BCW’s Washington, D.C. office since 2018, leading its public affairs and crisis team. He also helped create and leads BCW’s cannabis consulting unit. Before Doherty joined BCW predecessor company Burson-Marsteller in 2017, he was president of TheWadeGroup, Inc., responsible for managing the agency's operations, marketing and business development. “Dan combines a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges that clients face today in terms of policy, regulation, reputation and corporate citizenship with an entrepreneurial approach to business,” said BCE president, North America Chris Foster, to whom Doherty reports.

Idea Grove has named John Lacy president and chief operating officer. Lacy most recently served as COO for Imaginuity Interactive, a digital media agency, where he implemented process improvement systems and helped support 94.5 percent revenue growth over a three-year period. In this newly created role, he will work closely with founder and CEO Scott Baradell to enhance the agency’s operational efficiency and scalability. Lacy’s hire comes as Idea Grove prepares to move to an upgraded 5,100-square-foot office space in Tollway Plaza in the heart of the North Dallas business district.

Ruder Finn has brought on Travis Murdock as executive vice president in its technology and innovation practice. Murdock joins Ruder Finn from market network Xinova, where he was global head of marketing. At Xinova, he oversaw product and digital marketing, corporate communications, public relations, analyst relations and user acquisition. His previous positions include vice president of marketing at Atlas Informatics, managing principal at Ivy Softworks and senior vice president of Edelman's Silicon Valley office. Murdock is the past president of PRSA Silicon Valley. "Travis's extensive experience is relevant not only to our tech clients, but to every company looking to push the boundaries of digital transformation and engage with out-of-the-box thinkers and disrupters to leapfrog innovation," said Ruder Finn CEO Kathy Bloomgarden.
