Downey, a city of 112K people located in southeast Los Angeles county, wants to hire a PR firm to promote its downtown district.
The LA County Economic Development Corp. recognized Downey in 2017 as the county's "most business-friendly city" in the population of 68K and up category.
Working with the Downtown Downey Improvement Assn, the hired firm will develop a strategic PR program, handle outreach and place advertising.
It will promote special events, new public spaces and coordinate Facebook Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest activity with DDIA staff.
The contract period runs from Feb 1 to yearend 2020. Renewals/extensions are possibile for up to three years.
DDIA is looking for a firm within a 90-mile radius of Downey.
