Sandra Sims-Williams, chief diversity officer at Publicis Groupe, is joining Nielsen next month as senior VP of diversity & inclusion.
A 13-veteran of Publicis, Sims-Williams has a background in diverse leadership development, retention programming, analytics and effectiveness, supplier diversity and multicultural talent acquisition.
She will report to CEO David Kenney, who considers D&I essential to Nielsen’s business.
“Fostering a culture that is diverse and inclusive, and that is reflected in our products and offering, is the guiding force and a significant differentiator for our company,” said Kenney.
Nielsen is in the process of splitting into two publicly traded companies.
Nielsen Global Media provides metrics to media and advertising clients, while Nielsen Global Connect supplies marketplace data to retailers and consumer packaged goods companies.
Sims-Williams will provide D&I counsel to both businesses through their transition to independent entities.
