Glover Park Group has picked up the Alliance for Meat, Poultry & Seafood Innovation, a coalition formed in August to educate the public about food grown directly from animal cells.
Alliance founding partners Memphis Meats, Just, BlueNalu, Fork&Goode and Finless Foods believe cell-based or cultured meat/fish will be a sustainable way to meet the increasing demand for animal protein as the world population grows.
While their products are currently in the R&D phase, the Alliance wants Glover Park to lobby the Dept. of Agriculture and Food & Drug Administration on the regulatory framework required to bring their cell-based offerings to the US market.
GPG's Grant Leslie, aide to former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, and Kevin Bailey, professional staffer on the Senate's agriculture, nutrition and forestry committee, handle the Alliance.
