GuideWell Mutual Holding Corporation, which is parent to a group of healthcare companies, has hired Farley Kern as chief communications officer. Kern most recently served as vice president of global communication and public affairs at Johnson & Johnson, where she led all communications activities associated with the corporation’s Medical Devices Companies and drove communications for critical corporate initiatives. Prior to that, she was vice president of corporate communications at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, and held leadership roles at The Ritz-Carlton and CSX Corporation. In her new role, Kern serves as a member of the executive management team and leads all strategic communications functions including public relations, issues management, social media, executive communications, internal communications and stakeholder communications.

The Kroger Co. has promoted Keith Dailey to group vice president of corporate affairs. Dailey will also serve as chief communications officer and chief sustainability officer. He joined Kroger in 2011 as chief spokesperson and director of corporate communications, and has subsequently served as senior director of external affairs, senior director of corporate affairs and vice president of corporate affairs. Before coming to Kroger, Dailey was communications director for Ohio Governor Ted Strickland. In his new position, his responsibilities include external communications and brand public relations, financial communications, media relations, issues and crisis management, and executive communications as well as associate communications and engagement. Dailey also serves in leadership roles with The Kroger Co. Foundation and The Kroger Co. Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation.

Scenario Communications has hired Jennifer Reed and Molly Kukla to oversee a dedicated television and entertainment division at the firm. Reed comes on as executive vice president. She was previously at BWR Public Relations, where she was senior vice-president of television. Before coming to BWR, she worked in the publicity departments of 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company. In her new position, Reed will oversee all television and communications strategies in partnership with Kukla, who will be account director. Kukla also joins Scenario from BWR, where she held the title of director of television. Scenario was founded in December 2018 by BWR executives Hayley Antonian, Ron Hofmann and Steven Wilson, along with entrepreneur and business strategist Brian Lee.
