APCO Worldwide has brought on former UK minister for business and industry Richard Harrington as a senior advisor and member of the firm’s international advisory council.
As business minister from 2017 until 2019, he oversaw the UK’s industrial strategy, which included the automotive, automobile, life sciences, creative industries, chemical, hospitality and professional service sectors.
Harrington also served as Prime Minister David Cameron’s apprenticeship adviser and was under secretary of pensions and under secretary of state for Syrian refugees in Theresa May's government. He was a member of Parliament for Watford, from 2010 until 2019.
Prior to his government service, Harrington launched Harvington Properties, real estate firm, and was managing director of LSI Leisure Syndicates, timeshare operation.
