Managed Funds Association, the trade association for the global alternative investment industry, has named Noah Theran executive vice president and managing director of global communications. Theran joins MFA from Internet Association, where he has served as senior vice president, global public affairs & communications since 2014. Before that, he was director of communications at the American Investment Council. “Noah brings a track record of helping high-profile industries strengthen their communications capabilities to meet their public policy and reputation building objectives,” said Managed Funds Association president and CEO Bryan Corbett. Theran begins his new role on June 22 and will be based in Washington, DC.

Warner Bros. has hired Tricia Melton as chief marketing officer of its Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics division. Melton comes to Warner Bros. from Disney-owned cable network Freeform, where she was senior vice president, marketing, brand, creative and communications. She follows her former boss, Tom Ascheim, who exited as Freeform president in April, and is now running Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics. In her new role, Melton will lead marketing and brand strategy for the unit, which includes Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Boomerang, Warner Bros. Animation and Turner Classic Movies.

Digimarc Corporation, which has created a digital platform to facilitate touchless shopping, has brought on D.J. Vogt as senior director of corporate communications. Vogt was most recently director of public relations and government affairs for Swire Coca-Cola, USA, which manufactures and distributes Coca-Cola and other beverages in 13 western states. He has also served as a senior advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. In his new post, Vogt will lead Digimarc's public relations, investor communications and internal communications. "The knowledge that D.J. brings from his past communications experience will serve us well as we continue to drive market awareness and industry adoption of the Digimarc Platform,” said Digimarc CEO and chairman Bruce Davis.
