Michelle Slavich, who has been executive VP, global publicity & strategy at Warner Bros. Pictures since May 2018, is joining Netflix as VP of publicity.
In her new post, Slavich will head up communications efforts for the streamer’s series, film and documentary programming in the US and Canada.
Before coming to Warner Bros., she was head of entertainment communications at YouTube, and has also served as vice president of publicity at Universal Studios Home Entertainment.
Slavich began her career as a publicity assistant at Steven Spielberg’s Shoah Foundation and later worked in theatrical publicity for Dreamworks/Amblin Entertainment, which Spielberg also leads.
Netflix VP of series publicity Shannon Buck will remain in her job, reporting to Slavich. Julie Fontaine, who was VP of film publicity, left the company last month.
