M&T Bank Corporation has brought on Francesco Lagutaine as senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer, effective Aug. 17. Lagutaine joins M&T from financial services company Manulife, where he was chief marketing and experience design officer. He was previously head of customer franchise at Citibank Asia Pacific, and has held senior posts at advertising agencies including Ogilvy & Mather; Goodby, Silverstein & Partners; and Saatchi & Saatchi. “Francesco's expertise in leading transformative, customer-focused marketing and communications strategies, coupled with his passion for creativity, design and innovation, make him uniquely qualified to help us present the very best version of our company,” said Christopher Kay, M&T executive vice president and head of consumer banking, business banking and marketing.
Tech Data, a distribution company specializing in IT products and services, has named Jill Kermes corporate vice president of corporate communications. Kermes comes to Tech Data from tech start-up Lumina, where she was senior vice president, communications. Before that, she was senior vice president, communications for HSN and its parent company, HSNi; chief corporate affairs officer at Sea World Parks and Entertainment; and communications director for former Florida governor Jeb Bush. In her new role, Kermes will lead Tech Data's external and internal communications strategy and teams on a global basis. . “She brings deep experience in strategic communications at a critical and exciting juncture for our company,” said Tech Data CEO Rich Hume.

Crosby Marketing Communications has promoted Ron Ordansa and Elise Kolaja to vice president, creative director. Ordansa has been with Crosby since 1997, and has led national branding and creative campaigns for such clients and causes as Disabled American Veterans, Catholic Relief Services, and the CDC. Kolaja joined Crosby in 2003 as a creative director and copywriter. She has led marketing and behavior change campaigns to promote topics from organ donation and poverty awareness to suicide prevention and mental health services, working with clients including Kaiser Permanente, Military OneSource and the Veterans Health Administration.
