Brunswick Group partner Jonathan Burks is joining Walmart on Sept. 14 as VP in its global public policy shop.
At the giant retailer, Burks will work closely with its international, federal and state public affairs teams.
Burks has strong GOP connections earned from service as national security advisor to former House Speaker Paul Ryan. He was then upped to chief of staff, where he worked on president Trump’s tax cut and criminal justice reform.
Earlier, Burks was an aide Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and policy advisor at the Securities and Exchange Commission and Treasury Dept.
