APCO Worldwide has added Andy Davidson, founder of strategy consultancy Hummingbird Hill Advisors, to its Health Advisory Board, a subgroup of its International Advisory Council. Prior to founding Hummingbird Hill, Davidson was the president and CEO of the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems. He has also served as vice president of government and public affairs for the Washington State Hospital Association. “Andy has consistently provided critical advice for organizations looking to establish or refine their business objectives, and build the tactical strategies to achieve those goals,” APCO founder and executive chairman Margery Kraus said. “I look forward to working with him to help businesses and organizations—not only on the West Coast, but across the United States and around the world—establish strategic relationships built on transparency and trust.”

Kaiser Permanente has named Catherine Hernandez senior vice president and chief communications officer of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. Hernandez has been with Kaiser Permanente since 2003, most recently serving as vice president, public relations & communications. She was previously director, corporate marketing at Internet Pictures Corporation. As chief communications officer, Hernandez will lead Kaiser Permanente's corporate brand and reputation, internal and external communications, media relations, issues management, executive communications, and digital and social media. As a member of the National Executive Team, she will serve as an advisor to the chairman and chief executive officer on enterprise communications strategy and programs.
