City of Hope, an independent cancer and diabetes research and treatment center, is bringing on Gulden Mesara as senior vice president and chief communications and marketing officer, effective Sept. 15. Mesara was previously group vice president of communications at Walgreens Boots Alliance. Before that, she spent 13 years at Pfizer, where her posts included regional head of communications across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America and top emerging markets throughout the world. At City of Hope, Mesara will work with the center’s administrative leadership and faculty to increase engagement among current and potential patients, physicians, researchers, donors, industry partners and the general public. “Gulden is an accomplished leader who will help advance City of Hope’s commitment to delivering new models for highest quality, personalized care delivery and accelerating our translational,” said City of Hope executive vice president and chief transformation officer Debra Fields.

Brunswick Group has named Xi Qing and Pru Bennett partners. Xi comes to Brunswick from Pfizer, where he was most recently vice president of government affairs, market access and communications. He has also served as director of public relations at Wyeth China and public relations manager at Intel. In his new post, based in Shanghai, Xi will focus on the healthcare and life sciences sector. Before joining Brunswick as a senior advisor in 2019, Bennett was managing director at BlackRock and head of its investment stewardship team for the Asia Pacific region. Based in Sydney, she will focus on corporate governance. “Qing and Pru add significant weight to our capabilities in healthcare and life sciences and corporate governance, respectively, and will put Brunswick in an even stronger position to capitalize on growth opportunities in the region,” said Brunwick CEO Neal Wolin.

Fuller has most recently served as vice president of communications at Citrine Informatics. Her previous positions include head of global corporate communications and brand at Recommind and director of marketing communciations at Genworth Financial. At LEWIS, she will provide advice and share insight on an ongoing basis. “Andrea is a passionate communicator and a deeply respected business leader with tremendous marketing acumen,” said CEO Chris Lewis.
