AxiCom (part of the BCW group) has brought on Steve Kerns as executive vice president and managing director of North America, a newly created position. Kerns was most recently general manager and senior vice president of WE Communications San Francisco. He previously held executive positions at Text100, Edelman and Fleishman-Hillard. At AxiCom, Kerns will focus on the agency’s growth in North America as well as working to enhance client services. “Steve is a proven change agent, an authentic and transparent leader, and a passionate business development partner,” said AxiCom North America president Katie Huang Shin. Headquartered in San Francisco, AxiCom also operates from Austin, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Washington, DC.

Healthcare technology company Halo Health has named Julia Goebel vice president of marketing. Goebel comes to Halo from the CMO post at tech firm Benefitexpress. She previously served as vice president of marketing at both Stericycle and Ambir Technology. In her new role, Goebel will oversee all of Halo’s marketing and external communications efforts. "Julia's depth of experience in healthcare marketing and her collaborative style are vital for our next stage of growth," said Halo Health CEO and co-founder Jose Barreau, M.D.

Bernina of America, which produces sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, appoints Michaelynn Rose director of marketing. Rose comes to Bernina of America from Serta International, where she served as director of direct to consumer marketing and e-commerce. She has also held managerial positions at First National Bank of Omaha, Allstate, DDB and FCB. In her new post, Rose will oversee the company’s marketing efforts including multi-media advertising, branding, digital marketing, sales promotions and sponsorships. “Michaelynn has a well-rounded background from the agency and client-side that will undoubtedly drive strong results and sustainable profit growth,” said Bernina of America president Paul Ashworth.
