| Douglas Lute |
BGR Group has recruited Douglas Lute, retired US Army general, to chair its international and defense practices.
The 45-year military veteran served in both Obama administrations (coordinator for South Asia, US NATO ambassador) and the George W. Bush White House (deputy national security advisor for Iraq and Afghanistan).
BGR believes Lute’s foreign policy savvy and familiarity with current policymakers will help clients understand the Biden administration’s approach to global security challenges and relationships with US allies and partners.
Bob Wood, BGR Group CEO, said the addition of Lute “adds Democratic heft to our already robust international and defense teams.”
Lute's wife, Jane Holl Lute, was undersecretary-general at the United Nations and deputy security at the Dept. of Homeland Security from 2009 to 2013.
