Cornerstone Government Affairs names Mike Cuzzi a principal on its federal government relations team. Cuzzi was previously founder and principal at SRL Strategies, a consulting firm that developed and delivered customized public policy, external affairs and stakeholder engagement solutions for clean energy clients. He has also served as a senior director of government affairs and policy for Brookfield Renewable and a senior vice president at VOX Global. At Cornerstone, Cuzzi will focus on energy, climate and environmental issues. “The geographic diversity he brings to Cornerstone, as well as his energy and environment expertise, particularly in the area of Environmental Social Governance, will be of huge benefit to our existing and future clients,” said Cornerstone managing director for state government relations Campbell Kaufman.

TransMedia Group adds Jennifer Weinstein as executive president of public relations. Weinstein was previously a producer for FOX News Channel, and has worked for such media outlets as Dateline NBC, Inside Edition and E! News. On the agency side, she has been a multimedia consultant/project manager for Fleishman-Hillard and a senior producer of multimedia content for marketing company Vidicom. Weinstein also produced and directed video news releases, long-form corporate videos, satellite media tours and public service announcements. In her new post, she will create and execute campaigns for a broad range of clients. "In PR you live or die on how many media contacts you have and Jennifer brings an aircraft carrier full," said TransMedia Group CEO Tom Madden.

The Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations at the University of Alabama appoints Leah Seay as chair of its 2021 Emerging Leaders Committee. Seay is a crisis and issues management spokesperson at Amazon, where she serves as Amazon Operations’ lead media contact for litigation, porch piracy/ theft, global social media issues, and customer service issues. She previously led state and local public policy communications in Washington, DC for General Motors. Seay is also a University of Alabama graduate and a former graduate assistant at The Plank Center. The Emerging Leaders Committee recommends and undertakes activities for the Center with the purpose of helping develop a pipeline of future leaders.
